IM Program Assessment
Many organizations are realizing that their Information Management programs have fallen into disuse, are ineffective, or are misaligned with today's priorities and obligations. An IM Program Assessment yields a detailed collection of Observations, from which are derived Recommendations and an Action Plan that you can use to re-invigorate your IM program.
IM Program Framework Design
If a Program Assessment confirms that there are gaps in your organization's IM Program, a new or updated IM Program Framework and services to support its deployment may be needed. An IM Program Framework will typically include a Vision, a Governance Model, Policies, Procedures, IM Program Tools, new or adopted Standards, a Communications Plan, a Training Plan, and a Compliance Management Solution. Designing such a Framework need not be a multi-year effort.
IM Program Compliance Solutions
Even those organizations with a comprehensive IM Program Framework have little means of demonstrating that it is operationally effective and that it complies with relevant legislation, policy direction, standards and best practices. The design and implementation of an IM Program Compliance Solution will allow the monitoring of IM Program objectives and regular reporting, both internally and externally, against compliance obligations.
Classification Scheme and Retention Schedule Design
Many organization's employees spend a considerable portion of their time trying to find information before they can begin work. Classification schemes, taxonomies, folder hierarchies and other structures are either absent or unmanaged, making retrieval and genuine information management almost impossible. A Classification Scheme project will yield a hierarchical structure that can be used to sort and retrieve information according to business function, sub-function and activity, and also guide employees in the conduct of that work. A corresponding retention schedule will permit the elimination of information that has no further operational, legal, financial or historical value.
Information Clean-up, Planning and Implementation
Most organizations today have one or hundreds of shared drives, Records Centres, email servers and other repositories that are overflowing with data, records and information that is largely junk and that should be disposed of. However, some of the material in these repositories must be preserved. How should you proceed ? An Information Clean-up project will result in a greatly reduced volume of information under management, confidence that the information remaining is meaningful and valuable, and a well-justified rationale for the disposition that has taken place, allowing employees to work better and the organization to rest easier.
IM/EDRMS Software Specification, Procurement and Implementation
In today's largely digital work environment, most organizations cannot effectively manage or exploit information without an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) or similar IM software tool. The engagement of an expert who has been involved in dozens of implementations will ensure that preliminary work to justify, fund, specify and procure an IM/EDRMS tool will deliver a suitable solution, and ongoing consultative assistance will ensure that the implementation of the solution yields the desired benefits to your organization.
Custom IM Training
Both operational employees and IM Specialists require motivating and instructional guidance in order to use information effectively and to participate correctly in the information life cycle. Custom training, for a small or for a large number, based on well-established curricula and seasoned delivery methods will make everyone more productive.
